Our Projects

Outreach

Our outreach aims to address young people’s knowledge, attitudes, skills and intentions related to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) through HIV youth clubs, workshops and safe spaces.

During our workshops, adolescents and young people learn how their bodies, minds, and feelings change; discuss about puberty, menstruation,  pregnancy, HIV and other STIs, health risk behaviours such as smoking and substance use; learn to practice abstinence; learn how to communicate, negotiate and make good decisions; learn how to manage and negotiate social, peer and partner pressures; develop skills that support responsible, safe behaviours; learn how to reduce the risk of HIV/AIDS  amongst other STIs and prevent unintended pregnancies.

We promote a culture that supports positive behaviours, including those specific to SRH, provide moral support through counseling and improve access to sexual education and services.

Educational Services

Through rigorous survey and research, we’ve found out that girls’ education comes as close as almost anything to being the key intervention for improving women’s health; lowering rates of HIV/AIDS, reducing teenage pregnancy, improving maternal health, reducing infant mortality, ending FGM and early child marriage, not to mention, improving economies.

Recognizing the effectiveness of girls’ education, not just as a human rights intervention but also as a health intervention, we approach girls’ and women’s sexual health by improving equal access to education for the girl child through community school efforts, non-formal educational projects and leveraging partnerships.

We also raise funds for free menstrual hygiene products to help marginalized girls stay in school and provide reproductive health education for adolescent mothers out of school. Additionally, we provide adolescent girls and young women with contraceptive information and counseling.

Community Sensitisation

As change makers who believe in the power of collective action in co-creating a world where young people can thrive, our community sensitisation programmes does just that!

Through community engagement and enlightenment, dialogue and collective action, we seek to address harmful traditional beliefs and practices, cultural norms, stigma and discrimination that hinder the healthy development of adolescents and young people.

We also engage and interact with adult influencers in communities to help them identify and clarify their values, address common harmful myths and misconceptions related to adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health, and build competency to support the healthy development of their youth.
